How to add a new remote on git?

I was working smoothly with my local repository with master and pull/push was ok. A couple of days ago when I had to push my changes, the connection to the remote/master git repo was failed. My git repo admin told me that the master git was no longer available for some reason. He created a new repo on github and asked me to add a new Remote on git. I do not need to create a clone of the new repo. He's not available for now and I am running short of time. Please tell me how to make the new repo my master/origin or "add new Remote" as the admin said? Please help! Thanks

Thanks Orbrey, I figured out the solution yesterday. I did - git remote rm origin - git remote add origin - Added SSH key on the new remote and copied my SSH key on it. Thanks anyways for your help :)
